The 利昂县警长’s Office 储备单位 was established in 1964. The unit is comprised of community members who volunteer their time to assist with the many duties handled by full time Deputies. All reserve deputies are sworn and attend training along with full time deputies.
Reserve deputies work in every aspect of the 利昂县警长’s Office. The primary duties for reserve deputies are assisting 统一的巡逻 and working special events throughout 利县. Reserve deputies work special events such as: Red Hills Horse Trials, 塔拉哈西的春季, 庆祝美国, Veteran's Day Parade and all home Florida State University football games.
Many reserve deputies are former full time deputies that have retired, but still have the desire to serve our community. The many years of experience these deputies have acquired are utilized to train new reserve deputies. Other reserve deputies have full time jobs in the community. They are firefighters, nurses, teachers and many other professions. All reserve deputies have a common drive and desire; to help the citizens of 利县 enjoy a safe and enjoyable community in which to work and live.
The 利昂县警长办公室 储备单位 is a great way for aspiring full time deputies to gain valuable, “在职”经验. Reserve deputies can continue their college education requirements for full time employment while gaining valuable experience.
The Reserve Deputies provide approximately 12,000 hours of donated time annually. This aver年龄s a cost avoidance to the 利县 Taxpayers of $300,000.00 /年.
